Prince Harry & Princess Meghan at the Alter
The Royal Wedding: May 19, 2018
That Veil! That Tiara! That Wedding Dress! Have you ever seen a more beautiful and modern couple than Prince Harry and Princess Megan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex?
Meghan Markle made a dramatic entrance at Windsor Castle with a long, flowing veil draped over the Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau Tiara that was made in 1932. How exquisite! Designed by British Designer, Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy Couture who also designed her wedding dress – arguably one of the most elegant, minimal bridal designs in royal history.
Megan expressed the wish of having all 53 countries of the Commonwealth with her on her journey through the ceremony. Waight Keller designed a veil representing the distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country, united in one spectacular floral composition. The veil was 16.5 feet long and made of silk tulle with embroidered flowers representing all 53 countries.
Elegant! Modern! Feminine! But most of all, it carried a special meaning of union, and people coming together from 53 nations and cultures. As One. Love has that power.
You are an Extraordinary woman Megan Markle! The depth of your vision and the significance of your veil does not go unnoticed. It will leave a powerful impact for generations to come. About Love. About union. About collaboration. About evolution and change. Powerful. Beautiful. Extraordinary.
What a gorgeous moment when Prince Harry lifted your veil just before you took your vows. It revealed a moment in history when everything British and everything American changed in that single moment.
