A new year is upon us. . . 2017 will arrive in a few days with a clean slate, and a blank white canvas to begin again. To imagine. . . to dream big dreams. . . and to believe in the impossible dream that inspires us to stretch beyond anything we have ever known or imagined before. Anything is possible.
We can dig deep and go further than we ever have before. With a bit of faith and a lot of curiosity, along with our willingness to say ‘yes’ I will. . . and ‘yes’ I can, we can do it. Every moment in our lives has meaning and we are here for a purpose. Sometimes in our lives it’s simply about being available and loving the one’s we are with. And other times it is a calling to a deeper truth within ourselves. . . stretching further towards our heart and soul’s calling. We know when this moment arrives, as there is no calling back. We must proceed and move forward. No matter what. There is nothing else to do but simply take the next step forward. Even is that looks like risking everything. There is an inner calling, and when our heart and soul are directing our journey, we feel a knowingness that is to be trusted, that we are on the right path and making the right decisions. Even if we don’t understand it, we can feel this calling deep within our heart. We can trust it, for we know it is true for us. It is our calling to take the next step, and the next one after that.
It can be challenging as we glimpse back on this year, especially as we reflect upon recent world events that seem to lack human decency and respect for all lives. And in these tense moments we can choose to breathe in and through them, to move forward in our own unique way. Looking inward instead of looking outward. . . inside of our own heart and soul and asking: “What is it I need to know now? How am I to proceed? What am I calling forth that my soul is longing for? Where do I need to shed some light?”
Somewhere inside that beautiful white space of a new year is an answer. And only you can hear it if you listen deeply to your own heart.
As for this past year, I love this Dickens quote my friend India recently reminded me of: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…. It was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness.” For many of us, 2016 was a year of great challenges and growth. And I am grateful for it all. All of it. Every experience enriches us. Every challenge expands our awareness and helps us to grow. We are Blessed. And may you be Blessed with Love & Happiness in 2017.
Happy New Year!
